Lakehouse’s Virtual Addiction Recovery Program

man-looking-over-oceanThe past year has been extremely tough on the majority of the population. COVID-19 appeared seemingly out of nowhere, and the original two-week quarantine has now extended over one year. The stress has taken a toll on many individuals, with some turning to drugs and alcohol for a sense of relief. If you are currently struggling with addiction but are unsure of what treatment programs are available during this unprecedented time, a virtual recovery program could be right for you. Lakehouse Recovery Center in Westlake Village, CA, offers a virtual intensive outpatient program to help those in California struggling during the pandemic in a more accessible way. By understanding the basics of our virtual recovery program, you can make an educated decision on your future in treatment.

What is an Outpatient Program?

First and foremost, it is essential to understand what an outpatient program is. Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are for those that do not require around-the-clock care or detoxification. These programs are great for those that want to continue living their normal daily lives while still going to treatment. IOPs differ from residential treatments in that you are not living at the facility, but instead, you continue to live at home while you go through the program. This form of treatment offers you the care you need while still allowing you to live your life outside of treatment.

Lakehouse Recovery Center’s Virtual IOP

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lakehouse Recovery Center has created a statewide online IOP program to help individuals around California get the help they need without having to leave their houses. Anyone with access to a computer, smartphone, or tablet and a stable internet connection can access the program even if they are far from the facility itself. Our Telemedicine program accepts insurance and is considerably lower in price compared to other treatment programs since it is held online. There are a variety of treatment modalities offered to help clients work through issues pertaining to mental health, addiction, trauma, and more. Meetings take place over Zoom, which is a HIPAA compliant platform.

What To Expect

At Lakehouse, we want to provide top-quality care while still allowing you to live your daily life. We believe that you don’t have to stop your life to save it. Through our virtual IOP, you can begin taking concrete steps towards recovery and lifelong sobriety through a variety of treatment modalities. The program requires a commitment of at least 30 days as this is the minimum amount of time that we believe treatment can impact someone. However, we do recommend that you stay longer if possible.

We offer a variety of treatment methods that are all accessible via your computer. For each session, you will receive a link to join the group or individual session scheduled. This can include therapy sessions, sessions with a psychiatrist, guest lectures, and more recovery-related workshops.

Throughout treatment, you will take part in various modalities to help address your addiction and underlying issues. Such modalities include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), family therapy, holistic therapy, health and wellness workshops, yoga, breathwork, and more.

Our goal is to help you address mental health challenges, transitional challenges, and attachment challenges that you may be facing. With Lakehouse, we are a community; you never have to feel alone in recovery.

Is a Virtual IOP Right For Me?

While we want to provide accessible addiction treatment to those who need it, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand that a virtual IOP is not for everyone. The program is structured, and our staff will work with you to ensure your success in the program, but it is essential to consider your needs when making the decision regarding your treatment.

A virtual IOP will require you to be diligent in your treatment because it is online. It can be easy to miss a meeting or two because you are at home, but this can quickly turn into a pattern that affects your progress in recovery. You may also not feel comfortable discussing vulnerable topics over the internet; this is understandable, as some individuals benefit from in-person treatment. When considering a virtual IOP, ask yourself if you are responsible enough to attend sessions on your own record. Do you need round-the-clock care, or can you manage everyday life on top of treatment? Are you comfortable talking about difficult feelings and experiences over the internet? All of these things are crucial when considering our program, but we assure you that we will work with you to make your recovery a success.

COVID-19 has flipped the entire world on its head and changed the way life is lived in a variety of ways. While many addiction treatment facilities remain open for in-person programs, not everyone is comfortable receiving treatment in-person due to the virus. This is why facilities such as Lakehouse Recovery Center have created virtual IOP programs to get individuals the help they need during these unprecedented times. Our program is tailored to your individual recovery needs, and we will work with you to ensure you are making progress towards lifelong sobriety. Through our various treatment methods and approaches to recovery, you will learn how to not only live a sober life but enjoy doing so.
